Wheelchairs and Halifax Metro Transit

This shows a small part of how people on wheelchairs suffer because our bus system in Halifax does not accommodate wheelchairs.

They started fixing the sidewalks curb cut outs (Ramps) after this video was done.. But in the steep hills of downtown Halifax. They put the traction grooves on the concrete in the wrong direction.The grooves go down in the same direction as the slopes.. So that wheelchairs instead of getting more traction. They get no traction and skid down the slippery concrete.
